Chiyaan Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Ponniyin Selvan’s much-awaited teaser launched on Thursday. However, the film’s star cast witnessed a major hurdle ahead of their big reveal.

Yes, you read that right! There’s been a sad development owning to the lead actor. 

Chiyaan Vikram was reportedly rushed to Kauvery Hospital, Chennai after he suffered a heart attack. The actor reportedly underwent angioplasty on June 7. Hospital is yet to share updates about his health, however, sources in the hospital confirmed that he is stable.


As per the latest reports, Vikram had complained of feeling uneasy and was rushed to the Chennai hospital immediately for treatment. The actor underwent angioplasty, according to the sources of the hospital.

Now, the actor is said to be in a stable condition, and he will be reportedly discharged today. On Thursday, the actor informed his film (Ponnniyin Selvan) team that he won't be attending the teaser of the launch of the film today.

The teaser launch of Ponniyin Selvan - his upcoming film - is scheduled to be held later today at 6 pm in Chennai. The first part of the film is all set to hit the theatres on September 30.


The teaser is will be reportedly held at the Chennai trade centre. The glorious event is scheduled to be attended by Mani Ratnam along with the film’s cast. 

Meanwhile, fans have been praying for his recovery and many even took to their Twitter handle and shared their wishes and messages.
